I love the tiny feet of my daughters - they're soft, round and perfect. Those little feet have so far to go, so many kilometers to travel. As individuals, our girls have such amazing adventures to embark on and I will do my best to never hold them back, remembering always that their lives and loves are their own to discover. I will guide them as best as I can, I will love them with all of my heart and I will encourage them to be the people they want to be.

Sisters

Our girls both woke up early this morning. 5h50. We should have been up too but were hanging desperately onto the last few minutes of rest before the storm of the morning routine.

J was chatting so we turned the monitor off and let her chat. E called for me and I told her 'I'm still sleeping!'

I smiled when I heard the pat pat pat of little feet, expecting to open my eyes and see E peering at me, but was surprised when the light in J's room was turned on. Then the light in the bathroom. Suddenly a warm little body jumped into bed next to me, unruly curls tickling my face. She snuggled for a while and then, too restless to lie still for any amount of time, disappeared.

10 minutes later I got up to discover that E had moved her step into her sister's bedroom and climbed into her cot. The two of them were sitting there having a good old 'chat'. As I peeped in at them they both looked up and smiled at me - E with her green elephant pjs and her mad hair, and J with her silent smile and her body squirming in excitement.

Children. Friends. Sisters. What fun!
