I love the tiny feet of my daughters - they're soft, round and perfect. Those little feet have so far to go, so many kilometers to travel. As individuals, our girls have such amazing adventures to embark on and I will do my best to never hold them back, remembering always that their lives and loves are their own to discover. I will guide them as best as I can, I will love them with all of my heart and I will encourage them to be the people they want to be.

Snuggles are what life's about.

Snuggles are what life’s about. This morning after my shower, I walked back into our room to find E snuggled up in the warmth of our bed. S was feeding J in her room, but temptation was greater than our will power and it wasn’t long before the four of us were bundled up, back in our bed, even though we should have been rushing around preparing for the day. It’s moments like those that sometimes you just have to stop for. Stop and enjoy.

E disappeared
and when she came back started to moan that S had stolen her space in the bed. I consoled her, ‘Don’t worry, jump back into bed and snuggle up with us. Snuggles are what life’s about’. And in that perfect instant, for just a few minutes, I could put the rest of the world in a box and bask in the moment when those I love the most were all snuggled up against the cold in one big bed. I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my morning - although maybe a telephone call announcing that I had won R1 000 000 would have come close, I could then have called off the rest of the day and stayed snuggled up in bed with them…..

We finally jumped out of bed and all went our separate ways. Oh, how I look forward to sn
uggling all of them again tonight.

So be sure
to snuggle someone today – even if it’s just your cat. They love snuggles too!
