I love the tiny feet of my daughters - they're soft, round and perfect. Those little feet have so far to go, so many kilometers to travel. As individuals, our girls have such amazing adventures to embark on and I will do my best to never hold them back, remembering always that their lives and loves are their own to discover. I will guide them as best as I can, I will love them with all of my heart and I will encourage them to be the people they want to be.

I've been thinking that I must have some kind of blogger's block, I haven't written anything since 30 September - there just seem to be no words coming out at the moment, but admittedly, there has been a lot going on!

But then, this morning on my way to work I saw something that baffled my brain. A woman driving behind me had her little boy in the car with her. Not only was he in the front seat, but he was standing in the footwell of the car, arms on the dashboard, with his head leaning against the windscreen. *pregnant pause for effect*...

It took all of my will power not to stop my own car, wave her over and give her a good shake. Surely she must know how dangerous it is for her child - that if she were in an accident, he would end up concussed - or worse, he'd fly through the windscreen and end up dead on the side of the road.

People! Stand up and take responsibility for the children you decided to bring in to this world! They love us, they look up to us and they trust us implicitly - with every fibre of their beings - to do what we believe is right for them. Some things we have to figure out, we don't always know what is right - we have to trust our instinct, and do our best. But there are other things that are black and white, that are easy to figure out. Safety in a car is right, it's non-negotiable. Not wearing a seat belt is irresponsible and to put it simply - stupid!!

Well, that little rant has hopefully broken my blogger's block! I will, however, still share with you what I was going to share when I thought all words had dried up. Here are someone else's words for you to read. A Daily Truth from The Brave Girls' Club that landed in my inbox on exactly the day I needed it to, and in so doing, gave me some perspective. "If you are in a mucky spot, just keep going...keep going until you get to the other side of it. It will be SO worth it."

  1. We all have these silences on our blogs ... it's not always possible to put into words what it is that we're feeling or thinking xxx
