I love the tiny feet of my daughters - they're soft, round and perfect. Those little feet have so far to go, so many kilometers to travel. As individuals, our girls have such amazing adventures to embark on and I will do my best to never hold them back, remembering always that their lives and loves are their own to discover. I will guide them as best as I can, I will love them with all of my heart and I will encourage them to be the people they want to be.

Smiles and shrieks on a Friday morning

Smiles
Standing in the kitchen this morning preparing lunch boxes, J was eating her oats when she suddenly asked, "Mommy, do you love me?". My immediate response was "Of course I love you Jemmy - with all of my heart", and she shoots back, "I love me too - with all of my heart" :-)

May she continue to feel this way about herself for the rest of her life.

Shrieks
Last week I arrived home from work to find E waiting for me with her hands behind her back. She says "Mommy, I have a surprise for you" and without further ado shows me this:

Fortunately it's not the real thing, only the perfectly-formed outer skin left behind by Mr Rain Spider, but I almost jumped out of my own skin when I first saw it, and it still give me the creeps!

This spider shell has been sitting in her room next to the fish bowl for the last few days. She has been waiting with much excitement for Show and Tell so that she can take it to school - which is where I had hoped she would leave it! This morning I bravely decided to take a photo of her friend and after much shrieking and hopping about, I still, at the very end of this day, find myself flinching when I see movement from the corner of my eye.

xx
