I love the tiny feet of my daughters - they're soft, round and perfect. Those little feet have so far to go, so many kilometers to travel. As individuals, our girls have such amazing adventures to embark on and I will do my best to never hold them back, remembering always that their lives and loves are their own to discover. I will guide them as best as I can, I will love them with all of my heart and I will encourage them to be the people they want to be.

The Royal Wedding

Every little girl dreams of marrying a prince, and luckily most of us do get to do exactly that... in that moment when you're walking down the aisle in your fairytale dress, the man you've chosen to spend the rest of your life with (who is nervously waiting for you at the end of that red carpet) is your prince. In the case of Kate Middleton - now the Duchess of Cambridge - William is her prince, in every sense of the word.

I hadn't thought I'd really be all that interested in watching as much of the wedding as I did, but I'll admit that I got caught up in the all the excitement and ended up glued to the tv from 12h00 to 13h30 yesterday afternoon.

I was super-surprised at the emotion I felt. It wasn't the wedding vows or the kiss or anything vaguely romantic that moved me but rather the moment in time that I was a part of - the day that will go down in history is a day that I too will remember. I only very vaguely remember the wedding of Charles and Diana as I was only 7, but I'll definitely remember watching this wedding - and I'll definitely remember E's excitement over the wedding. Knowing my daughter as well as I do, I know that she will remember it too. I was amazed at how much she knew about the famous couple but there have been snippets about them on the telly every evening for a while now, and E has a radar for all sorts of information. She stores it, just as her Dad does, and uses it when she needs to. However (and this is where she's like me) she becomes extremely excited over upcoming events, she loves the anticipation (and the chase) and ends up with a big picture in her mind of how things will work out - not always a good thing, but fun most of the time. And as a result she sat down with J, myself and Po (our glorious nanny - who definitely needs a post all of her own sometime) with stars in her eyes to watch the big event - and so I wasn't really surprised when she whipped out the camera during the wedding and started snapping pics of the tv. Here are some of her favourites - she's given me my orders to print them out so that she can keep them in her photo album - where they'll be documented in the history of her life.

PS I do have a feeling that part of the reason E was so looking forward to the wedding was that she just fell 'in love' with Kate. I think that the friendly, approachable and open way in which she carries herself is going to make her a very popular member of the royal family to many people all around the world...
We had to watch the news later in the evening to capture this shot!!
