I love the tiny feet of my daughters - they're soft, round and perfect. Those little feet have so far to go, so many kilometers to travel. As individuals, our girls have such amazing adventures to embark on and I will do my best to never hold them back, remembering always that their lives and loves are their own to discover. I will guide them as best as I can, I will love them with all of my heart and I will encourage them to be the people they want to be.

The power of TV

Driving E to school this morning, I realised that it was Thursday, which is painting day at school and that therefore she probably shouldn't be wearing the pretty dress she had decided to wear, but rather a pair of shorts and an old t-shirt. I told her what was on my mind and she said, "Don't worry Mom, we can wash the stains out" and when I replied that those paint stains don't always wash out, her comment made me laugh fondly at my eldest daughter "but Mom, I know about this stuff that makes your whites whiter, I saw it on TV! In fact, it works on all colours."
"Really my love, what's it called?"
"Makes your whites whiter, of course!"

E doesn't watch much TV - a little bit in the morning, once she's ready for school; in the early mornings on the weekend; and the occasional movie. Just goes to show how aware we need to be of the content the kids are watching, as they take in and process so much - and E doesn't forget ANYTHING! Luckily the information that penetrated her brain was harmless, and even a little helpful - this time!

And so I'm off to the shops to look for something called Makes your Whites Whiter - just in case E's dress is covered in paint this afternoon :-)
