I love the tiny feet of my daughters - they're soft, round and perfect. Those little feet have so far to go, so many kilometers to travel. As individuals, our girls have such amazing adventures to embark on and I will do my best to never hold them back, remembering always that their lives and loves are their own to discover. I will guide them as best as I can, I will love them with all of my heart and I will encourage them to be the people they want to be.

Magic Memories...

...Cape Town, Blouberg, Sunset Beach. Beautiful sunshine, blue sky, no wind - a perfect day! It's early in the morning and E and I walk down to the beach. In true E fashion, the short walk to the beach is non-stop chat - how wonderful to be able to have real conversations with my 3 (almost 4) year old daughter.

We arrive on the beach, the tide is way out, the beach is one beautiful stretch of white sand dotted with pebbles that have been dumped by the sea during the night. There's not a cloud in sight and the view of Table Mountain and Lion's Head is breathtaking. Less than a handful of people out walking their dogs. E grabs my hand and we run - into the sea, and then along the beach. We run and run, splashing and giggling through the shallow water which has already been warmed by the friendly sun.

I couldn't have wished for a more beautiful moment, shared with my eldest daughter.

...a comfy B&B in Bloemfontein is where we stop for the night. We've been on the road for 11.5 hours and are all longing to get out of the car.

Less than 30 minutes after we put the girls to bed a huge storm hits and the hail that comes with it crashes onto the tin garage roof outside of the girls' bedroom window. They're both nervous and don't want to sleep so we carry then both to our bed and turn off the lights thinking that they'll fall asleep, but why sleep when this is so much more exciting!

Both of them start bouncing and throwing themselves around the bed. Scooting between the two of us, they stop for snuggles and kisses. S and I look at eachother, shrug our shoulders and join in until the four of us are in fits of laughter.

We promise ourselves many more evenings just like this one - slumber parties for the four of us :)
