I love the tiny feet of my daughters - they're soft, round and perfect. Those little feet have so far to go, so many kilometers to travel. As individuals, our girls have such amazing adventures to embark on and I will do my best to never hold them back, remembering always that their lives and loves are their own to discover. I will guide them as best as I can, I will love them with all of my heart and I will encourage them to be the people they want to be.

Yaaaaay! Schools are closed!

I am so very happy that the school holidays are here! Not only do the girls need a break, but so do I!

I can see that they are tired - well, Ella is. Jem's school day is still all about play, play, play, but Ella, although only in Grade 0, has a lot to get through in a day! With Winter here, and the darker mornings, the girls are finding it more and more difficult to wake up in time for school. In Summer, they're awake as soon as the birds are chirping, and those early rays of delicious sunlight are streaming through their bedroom windows - they come bounding into my room to wake me up, full of energy and joy for the day ahead. In Winter, the house is still quiet long after I'm up and showered, and it's me who has to bound cheerily into their rooms to wake the sleeping Princesses - they open their eyes, groan and snuggle back under the covers!

So for the next 3 weeks, I'm glad that they're able to wake up when they're ready to wake up. I'm happy to let them chill in front of the TV for a little in their jaamies each morning. And I'm really happy that they're going to have time to just be!

They get to play with toys long forgotten, to see the other kids in the complex and to spend quality time with family.

As for me - no rushing to get the girls to school on time each morning. No strict bedtime routine. No lunchboxes to pack. No more nag, nag, nag - for 3 whole weeks! I get to spend extra time with the munhckins in the evenings and snuggle with them in the mornings. I also get to indugle in some extra sleep which, to be completely honest, is my main reason for loving the holidays as much as I do :-)

These two scored big time today - they went to lunch at Spur with their Dad and ended up going to dinner at Spur again with me. They've had such a fun day and fell into bed completely exhausted - their gorgeous faces still covered in paint!

xoxo
