I love the tiny feet of my daughters - they're soft, round and perfect. Those little feet have so far to go, so many kilometers to travel. As individuals, our girls have such amazing adventures to embark on and I will do my best to never hold them back, remembering always that their lives and loves are their own to discover. I will guide them as best as I can, I will love them with all of my heart and I will encourage them to be the people they want to be.

Mommy-in-the-making

My gorgeous, funny, sensitive and incredible 5-year old daughter is the ultimate caretaker. There's something in her nature that makes her want to take care of everyone and everything - this also makes her the best big sister EVER...

Her sensitivity sometimes astounds me and I wonder if she's old beyond her years, but she takes so much pride in doing what she does that we make sure we really show our gratitude for each gift given. For example, yesterday morning I walked from the shower through to my room to find that the oil heater I had plonked my clothes on top of had been turned on - so that I could climb into nice warm clothes (a little dangerous, I know, but not the point at the moment).

To get to the point however, and the main reason behind this post - one of E's favourite things to do is to put soft toys in our bed before she goes to sleep. Once we've said good night to her, she sneaks out of her room and places one toy on each side of the bed, so that S and I both have a toy to snuggle up to during the night - even during our recent 4 month separation, she would leave a toy for her Dad. I love, it's just so sweet, but last night she really outdid herself...

She removed the extra pillows on our bed, turned down the covers, took our PJs out from under the pillows, and gave each of us a toy! This is how I discovered our bed when I wearily made my way towards it late last night...
On the head of the Care Bear provided for me to sleep with is a little note that reads "Ella love mom".

My sweet little poppet. I love you too!
xx
