I love the tiny feet of my daughters - they're soft, round and perfect. Those little feet have so far to go, so many kilometers to travel. As individuals, our girls have such amazing adventures to embark on and I will do my best to never hold them back, remembering always that their lives and loves are their own to discover. I will guide them as best as I can, I will love them with all of my heart and I will encourage them to be the people they want to be.

Little Miss Shopkeeper

Yesterday was E's first chance to be 'shopkeeper' at school. She was so excited, but also a little nervous.

One of the reasons for my 'grrrrrr day' post was that I had discovered that very morning that E was shopkeeper and that I had only ONE day to prepare (sorry! to help E prepare!) something delectably delicious to take to school. In fact, I had less than a day - I had a couple of hours that evening to pull that elusive rabbit out of a hat! Usually the shopkeeper list is posted well in advance so that Moms know when it's their turn to get the baking mitts on, but with the beginning of the school term there had obviously been some kind of mix-up and I ended up being the 'lucky' Mom left racking her brains, and phoning friends, for quick and easy - but cool - baking ideas.

Actually, my story is not quite as hectic as I make it out to be - I tend to exaggerate and panic more than I should in such situations! S was going to be home in the afternoon and, being the amazing Dad he is, was quite willing to bake his speciality biscuits with E - and that was what had turned me into a sulky, pouty child for a few hours - that he would be baking with her - and not me! Silly hey!

Anyway, they got busy in the afternoon and by the time I got home there were 50 little biscuits ready for me to sit and ice with the girls - so I did end up having fun with them after all!

E was so chuffed with her biscuits (there were even enough left over that J could give some to her teacher), and last night when I got home, E greeted me with a grin that stretched from ear to ear - shopkeeper day had been a great success!

See J with her finger in her mouth!
